What you will do:

The Retail Bookkeeper reconciles and balances all daily receipts including cash, charges and credit cards.Manages all TCCA and Boardman open charge accounts. The Bookkeeper maintains Tillamook’s Shared Values, creating a world-class guest experience to the one million guests that visit annually, and supports in the Creamery’s daily operations.

Here’s a day in the life:

• Balance daily cash, charges and credit cards for each register and total for all departments (retail, ice cream, and cafe).Prepare bank deposit slip for total amount (breakout and balance each), bag it and make deposit at bank.
• Reconcile and batch totals by department.Posts to sales spreadsheet.Documents shorts and overages in each register.
• Oversee accounts receivable. Review employee/patron discount amounts, total and reconcile. Applies payments in Counterpoint software. Print month-end statements and creates backup for them.Reviews and sends to HR/Patron accounting.Mails open account statements. GL Coding & Backup of Inner department accounts sent to accounting.
• Balance 3 safes daily.Maintains adequate change supply for all Dept registers.Restocks petty cash safes for all Food Service and Retail daily operations.
• Order and prepare change orders from Garda.
• Maintains sufficient inventory of all cash reconciliation forms.Maintains all business records files/spreadsheets.
• Adds new and deletes terminated employees in POS systems to keep active employee data base up to date.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public.
• Communicate effectively.
• Utilize a computer with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, and POS systems.
• Act as a team player and be able to interact with staff at all levels of the company.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Post-secondary education in bookkeeping or accounting; Associates Degree preferred.
• 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
• Operate computer and communicate effectively.
