U.S. Data Security (“USDS”) is a standalone department of TikTok in the U.S. This new security-first division was created to bring heightened focus and governance to our data protection policies and content assurance protocols to keep U.S. users safe. About the Team
Trust and Safety Operations a pivotal team within U.S. Data Security. We strive to enable TikTok to become the most trusted and secure platform in the US through operational excellence in content moderation via innovations in technology, optimization in processes and investment in people. We ensure that we enforce our policies based on our community guidelines and we take appropriate actions in a timely manner to minimize risks on our platform to our users and advertisers.
Responsibilities

• Develop expert understanding of TikTok’s policies, procedures, app features, and content moderation operational processes
• Take ownership of KPIs and SLA adherence across multiple workflows; identifying and predicting risks, and effectively communicating them through in depth reporting
• Drive OKR development and roadmap planning for your team and articulate your goals and progress to leadership
• Work with your team to develop and implement new policy rollouts, product feature and strategy launches, and workflow optimization projects. Work with cross-functional team members to set milestones, communicate project statuses, and identify or address potential setbacks.
• Control and improve day-to-day operations against operational KPIs and manage team performance through automation, tooling, process, or policy changes
• Create relevant documents and procedures to help identify risk within the US Operations team and make data driven recommendations for improving moderation process, strengthening user trust, and providing a better user experience
• Lead the postmortem process when grave incidents occur within moderation, and communicate the findings to key stakeholders across the team and organization
• Engage and maintain effective relationships with cross-functional partners, stakeholders, and external vendors
• Prioritize effectively to ensure that the team is focused on long term goals by striking a balance between new initiatives vs. core responsibilities
• Coach, mentor, and develop each member of the team to further their growth within the organization

Qualifications

• BA/BS Degree or higher
• 5 years of direct people management experience and passionate about developing talent
• 8 years of content moderation experience in UGC product/platform
• Experience in building processes and workflows
• Experience working with vendor (BPOs) leadership and frontline contractors
• Proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional partners in Policy, Training, Quality Assurance, Data/Analytics, and Product
• Experience and comfortable in using data to setting goals and target for your team
• Solid soft skills with proven ability to communicate at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations
• Proven ability to formalize complex ideas and analytical findings into well defined logic and actionable recommendations
• Quick-thinker, fast learner with a great work ethic

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing remote team members
• Experience building products and processes for Trust & Safety
• Experience working with international partners in different time zones
• Effective analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive strategy (SQL)
• Safety first mindset with an emphasis on proactive risk detection and mitigation

Job Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $125400 - $229140 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
