E-commerce's Governance and Experience is a global team responsible for ensuring our marketplace is safe and trustworthy for not only users, but also sellers and creators. We value user satisfaction and work on policies, rules and systems to ensure quality.
As the US leader for regulatory and industry affairs, you will be partnering closely with Public Relations, Government Relations, and Public Policy and drive a comprehensive and proactive external engagement strategy to drive a positive narrative with customers, policymakers, regulators, trade associations, and brand owners leading to better outcomes across our TikTok Shop ecosystem, establishing and fostering relationships with key stakeholders across the industry, which will lead to greater outcomes as evidenced by similar strategies deployed by other e-commerce marketplaces (i.e. Amazon, eBay). We will develop relationships and advocacy with key leaders within trade associations, brands, and government agencies.
Key Responsibilities:1. Regulatory Strategy:
1. Partner with internal cross functional teams to drive consistency in our external processes and narrative across TikTok and TikTok Shop, enhancing trust in our brand and marketplace;
  • Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and assess their impact on the business.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
2. Government Relations:
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Represent the company in regulatory discussions, hearings, and industry forums.
  • Advocate for the company's interests and communicate regulatory developments to internal stakeholders.
3. Policy Development:
  • Research and analyze regulatory trends, policy issues, and industry developments.
  • Contribute to the development of company policies and positions on regulatory and industry matters.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate regulatory considerations into business strategies.
4. Risk Management:
  • Identify and assess regulatory risks and opportunities.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Work closely with legal and compliance teams to address regulatory issues and challenges.
5. Industry Engagement:
  • Represent the company in industry associations and forums.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry players and influencers.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree, advanced degree preferred.
  • 7 years of experience in regulatory affairs, government relations, brand cooperation or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of US Ecommerce regulations and standards.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing regulatory compliance in a complex business environment.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functional teams.
  • Demonstrated past success working in a matrix environment and ability to influence key stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, ever changing environment

Job Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $172900 - $304000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
