Team Overview
The commerce industry has seen tremendous growth in recent years and has become a hotly contested space amongst leading Internet companies, and its future growth cannot be underestimated. We aim to bring discovery, inspiration, and joy back to shopping by making TikTok the commerce channel of choice for merchants, creators, and affiliates. We are looking for a retail leader to join our newly formed team and oversee the growth of the Accessories category.

We will deliver high quality products within a unique and seamless customer experience. The Category Lead – Fashion Accessories role is responsible for building the category team, scaling our base of enterprise and midmarket merchant partners, and driving top line revenue growth for TikTok's US e-commerce business. The job scope will require building a strong, solutions-oriented sales team, introducing high potential brands/merchants to TikTok e-commerce platform, and driving their business growth through TikTok. Responsibilities:
  • Design the overall category growth strategy - define goals, identify opportunities, forecast the business, and go-to-market.
  • Build and develop a strong team according to the category growth priorities and business rationale.
  • Manage a category team to acquire brand principals, distributors, and merchants to support category growth at scale.
  • Consult clients' leadership on TikTok Shop's value proposition, and demonstrate a deep understanding of product capabilities and measurement.
  • Discover innovative collaborative models that fit into merchants' short-term and long-term development plans, and invest platform resources effectively and efficiently.
  • Partner with cross-functional subject matter experts to develop, identify, and implement effective merchant content and merchandising programs.
  • Coach a team of Category Managers in setting long and short-term goals, growth milestones, and tracking performance towards merchant and sales objectives.
  • Guide Category Managers on consultative, client-centric selling and best-in-class presentations, develop for career growth and industry expertise.
Qualifications
  • 8 years experience in e-commerce/retail business; experience in retail on both the platform side and brand/merchant side is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record of continually reaching and exceeding sales goals - prior experience P&L ownership and planning is a plus.
  • Excellent sales and business development skills, command of B2B and B2C funnel structures.
  • Experience recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and developing a strong sales team - passion for leading and developing people.
  • Ability to thrive in a rapid, agile, and often ambiguous environment with a growth mindset.
  • Attention to detail, affinity for analytics, logical and strong problem solving skills.
  • Familiar with TikTok and other content platforms; experience in content-based e-commerce (brand and/or platform-side) is highly preferred.
  • Strong network and connections with brands and/or retailers is a plus.

Job Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $132000 - $244800 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
