About the Team
We are looking for an innovative counsel to join the Public Policy subject matter expert team made up of seasoned tech policy leaders from an array of disciplines. The team provides strategic advice to the business and anticipates policy trends and impacts. We also proactively drive thought leadership by seeking out new ideas to help the company lead the industry. You will focus on helping prepare responses to Congressional correspondence and other policymakers inquiries, and serve as a subject matter expert for the broader Americas public policy team, based in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities:

• Analyze and evaluate proposed legislation and regulation on technology issues such as safety, content moderation, data privacy and security, and artificial intelligence; advise Americas public policy team on strategy and policy issues associated with these topics.
• Work with internal and external legal and policy teams to stay ahead of and on top of evolving policy trends and legislation across the Americas, including responding to correspondence from Congress and other public policy stakeholders.
• Provide policy advice, including issue-spotting and strategizing solutions for new policies and products.
• Ensure that Americas public policy external communications are accurate and comprehensible to a general audience. This requires the ability to precisely translate and clearly communicate complex topics into more relatable explanations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; Juris Doctorate or other advanced degree strongly preferred.
• 3-5 years of significant experience working in government, at a law firm, or industry/trade association. Experience working on tech policy issues and with Congress strongly preferred.
• Excellent writer and communicator and comfortable tracking, prioritizing, and managing multiple tasks and projects; ability to execute in fast and flexible environment.
• Experience working across multiple functions, influencing, and collaborating with others to successfully implement programs and initiatives; history of successful cross-functional team and leadership collaboration.
• Strong sense of problem-solving and proactive work ethic. Self-motivated; can identify and complete work without being instructed.
