Team Intro
The Payment team of U.S. Data Security department of TikTok provides payment solutions - including payment acquisitions, disbursements, transaction monitoring, payment method management, foreign exchange conversion, accounting, reconciliations, and so on - to ensure that users have a smooth and secure payment experience on TikTok platform.
The Lead Program Manager, Operational Excellence (Payments) will report to the Head of Payment of USDS and will be a core member of the team that connects cross-functional business initiatives and create and own processes for productivity, progress tracking, and efficiency. The team's primary goals are to actualize the Payment Head's strategic vision by executing business strategy with low operational risks, costs, and within the parameters of U.S. compliance mandates.
The Lead Program Manager, Operational Excellence will focus on meeting business and service expectations through continuous improvement of USDS Payments operational processes, OKR & KPI tracking, and program management. The Lead Program Manager, Operational Excellence will also be responsible for working with technical teams to develop tools and dashboards to track progress, identify and remediate areas to improve efficiencies, and manage projects from conception to full execution. The Lead Program Manager, Operational Excellence, will have an opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the entire Payments organization, build and lead essential cross-functional programs across the organization, and think both strategically and tactically to break down problems into solutions. The ideal candidate has an enthusiasm for cross-functional program management, high-level thinking, and on-the-ground execution.
In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, among other things, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department. We regularly review our hybrid work model, and the specific requirements may change at any time.
Responsibilities:
  • Drive strategic project initiation, alignment, planning and execution through collaborations with payments and cross-functional leads and teams. Hold leads and teams accountable for deliverables. Establish governance and structure supporting key projects with clear communication, defined roles and responsibilities, scope documentation, milestone setting, and progress or issue reporting.
  • In charge of executive reporting including QBR, MBR. OKR updates and cross functional communication. Regularly report progress to the Head of Payment and other senior leaders to inform decisions and drive accountability.
  • Identify inefficiencies in operational processes and develop targeted remediation plans. This includes redesigning processes, optimizing standard procedures, and leading initiatives to drive measurable improvements in operational excellence.
  • Establish a center of excellence and host sessions featuring lessons learned, best practices, and cross functional knowledge sharing.
  • Supporting P&L activities including budgeting, recruiting, procurement, vendor management, and expense forecasting.
  • Be a champion of inclusion and diversity and lead team building and employee recognition efforts.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5 years of work experience with a Bachelor's degree or 5 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD).
  • Strong problem-solving skills along with excellent writing and editing skills, with experience writing for different audiences.
  • Comfortable presenting and communicating across all levels of leadership and across cross functional teams.
  • Ability to rapidly shift priorities based on evolving priorities and challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preference for degree in quantitative areas (e.g. Mathematics/Statistics/Economics/Econometrics/Operations Research/Computer Science/Engineering.)
  • Working experience in consulting, payments or financial services industry is a plus in addition to working within a high-growth environment.
  • Experience in building a project from kick-off to close, specifically, planning and leading initiatives with a strong ability to align stakeholders.
  • Be comfortable running data queries (e.g. SQL/Python) and data visualization tools to derive data-driven insights.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts to broader stakeholders without shared subject expertise.
