Position Summary
: The Project Superintendent plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing all aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. Responsible for coordinating and supervising on-site activities, the Superintendent ensures adherence to project plans, schedules, budgets, and quality standards. Serving as the primary point of contact between project stakeholders, subcontractors, and the construction team, this role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to efficiently resolve issues and deliver successful outcomes. The Superintendent also upholds safety protocols, fosters teamwork, and maintains a productive working environment to achieve project goals effectively.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the Construction Project Manager throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Enforce company safety policies, conducting and documenting safety meetings, and promptly addressing any hazards on the job site.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, rectifying hazards as they arise.
  • Prepare accurate and timely daily reports and field documentation.
  • Manage the creation and resolution of project punch lists with subcontractors and clients.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager to secure necessary permits and approvals from local authorities.
  • Schedule and attend municipal inspections as required.
  • Supervise multiple subcontractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
  • Conduct regular coordination meetings with subcontractors to address project issues.
  • Perform quality inspections to verify work meets established standards.
  • Manage construction scheduling to meet tight timelines, including material orders and inspection scheduling.
  • Foster positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and team members.
  • Review contract documents with team members and subcontractors to ensure adherence to project requirements.
  • Track and manage closing documents such as RFIs, submittals, and punch lists.
  • Enforce company and project policies to maintain project integrity and efficiency.

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • 7 years of experience in a Project Superintendent role and completed at least two similar projects
  • Completed construction projects of magnitudes greater than $15m, preferred experience working on GSA and/or DHS projects.
  • One similar project must have the construction successfully completed or has reached substantial completion within the past ten (10) years
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent combination of technical training and/or extensive experience in construction, design, finance and management required.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team management and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
  • Experience in coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, project team members, and other stakeholders.
  • OSHA 30-hour certification is often required or preferred.
  • Additional certifications or training related to construction management, such as LEED accreditation or PMP certification, may be beneficial depending on the specific requirements of the position and the industry sector.

  • Budget Management: Ability to manage project budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
  • Safety Management: Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices to create and maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Conflict Resolution: Skill in resolving conflicts and addressing issues that arise among project team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, fostering positive working relationships.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with construction software and project management tools for scheduling, budgeting, document management, and communication (e.g., Procore, Primavera, Microsoft Project).
  • Client Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing their needs, concerns, and expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing project conditions, unexpected challenges, and evolving priorities while maintaining focus on project objectives.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in project documentation, quality control processes, and compliance with specifications and regulations.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborative mindset and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders, fostering teamwork and cooperation.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and financial background check.

Pay: Negotiable

Location: Onsite: El Paso, TX

Travel: 10% as needed

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

This position is listed as onsite, you’ll work with colleagues and clients in person, as needed for the specific role.
