Where would you step in?
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the structural design and analysis for a variety of projects in sectors such as institutional, K-12 education, higher education, healthcare, industrial, municipal, water, and wastewater treatment. You could sit in our Westwood, Woburn, or Worcester, Massachusetts offices. We offer a hybrid work environment and flexible Fridays in the summer.

Our Building Services Team and Projects
We provide building design and inspection for new facilities, as well as addition or renovation projects. We evaluate and design all building structural systems. This includes roof decks, beams and girders, columns, masonry bearing walls, below grade concrete walls, and structural slabs. Our structural engineers also design equipment support structures, tanks and containment structures, as well as vehicular and pedestrian bridges.

What will you be doing?
You will lead and manage the structural design process for concurrent projects, ensuring adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and project managers, to develop innovative and efficient structural solutions. You will review and check structural calculations, drawings, and specifications prepared by junior engineers and drafters and provide guidance and mentorship to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to quality standards.

What do you need?
To qualify for the Senior Structural Engineer position, you will need a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. Additionally, you should have significant experience in structural engineering, focusing on institutional, education, healthcare, industrial, municipal, water, and wastewater treatment projects. Experience in the design and analysis of non-bridge structures is essential. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are necessary to effectively convey technical concepts to clients, team members, and stakeholders. Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities are also required to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
