TITLE: Lead Driver
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Residential, Roll Off and Commercial Supervisors
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
The Lead Driver, under direction of the Residential, Roll Off and Commercial Supervisors, assesses, coordinates, supports, and leads the residential, roll off and commercial teams in the safe and compliant execution of the company’s operations and services.
Essential Functions:
· Evaluates, prioritizes, and distributes workload while meeting company safety, compliance, quality control and service standards.
· Performs, evaluates, and documents route observations and pre-trip and post-trip inspections of company issued vehicles.
· Assists in assessing routes for optimum efficiency.
· Actively communicates all changes to daily route sheet to the dispatch team.
· Notifies supervisor and HR & Risk Department of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage that may occur while completing activities on route.
· Reviews and completes daily work orders.
· Ensures accurate completion of route sheets and VCRs by the end of each day.
· Evaluates, trains, and directs employees on how to correctly operate equipment.
· Ability to proficiently navigate, in forward and reverse motion, driveways, alleyways, high traffic roadways with potential limited overhead and compact areas.
· Ability to operate vehicles in accordance with OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act) and DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements as well as all local, state, and federal laws.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
· Ability to safely operate a DOT vehicle.
· Ability to push, pull, and lift up to fifty pounds, with or without assistance.
· Ability to convey Tiger Sanitation as the obvious choice for our customers, employees, and community.

Education and Experience
· Must possess a valid Class A or B Driver’s License
· 3 years of professional commercial driving experience preferred.
· High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
Working Conditions
This position will be mostly based in an outdoor environment, exposed to the elements, with extended periods of standing, sitting, squatting, climbing, reaching, and lifting.
