TIDEWATER LUNG AND SLEEP CENTER is Hiring a Nurse Practitioner Near Suffolk, VA

Tidewater Lung and Sleep Center is a growing medical practice specializing in pulmonary and sleep medicine. Join our team in providing excellent and innovative care to pulmonary and sleep patients in the Hampton Roads and surrounding areas.

Job Description:

· Analyzes and interpret patients’ history, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop an appropriate diagnosis

· Documents findings and actions appropriately in the patient’s medical records

· Accesses health conditions and collects patient data through use of means such as interviews, observation, and elimination

· Identifies the need for additional data collection including the need for data collection from other health providers

· Develops treatment plans based on scientific rationale, standards of care and professional practice guidelines

· Educates patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailoring instructions to patents’ individual circumstances

· Orders, performs, or interprets the results of diagnostic tests

· Maintains patient confidentiality

· Prescribes medications based on efficacy, safety and cost as legally authorized

· Counsels patients about drug regiments and possible side effects or interactions with other substances such as food supplements, over the couther medications and herbal remedies

· Recommends interventions to modify behavior associated with health risks

· Performs related work as required or assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to document appropriately and communicate with the appropriate physician in a timely manner as required, including, but not limited to evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, treatment notes
  • Demonstrate a high degree of medical knowledge and exercise independent judgment as appropriate
  • Ability to work independently

License/Education

  • Graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Virginia license
  • Active DEA

Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
