Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our team. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures, ensuring timely reimbursement, and maintaining patient records. This is a vital role in our healthcare organization, as you will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial transactions and maintaining compliance with medical coding standards. The position is part-time, with some full-time coverage periods. Monday-Friday - no nights, weekends, or holidays, with some flexibility.

Duties:
- Review and analyze medical records to accurately assign medical codes using ICD-10 coding systems
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by paper
- Follow up with insurance companies on unpaid or denied claims, A/R aging
- Resolve billing discrepancies and issues with insurance companies or patients
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility
- Maintain accurate patient records, including demographic and insurance information
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper documentation for billing purposes
- Stay up-to-date with changes in medical coding regulations and guidelines

Qualifications:
- Previous hands-on experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role
- Proficient in medical coding systems such as ICD-10
- Strong knowledge of medical billing processes, including claim submission, payment posting, and reimbursement procedures in a private office setting
- Familiarity with medical terminology, procedures, and diagnoses
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Skills:

- Proficiency in electronic medical records management systems
