Job Description:
A prominent player in the property and casualty insurance market is seeking a Vice President ofClaims Legal Operations to oversee the claims litigation management program.The vice president will be responsible fordevelopingthe vision and goals for the unit, as well as maintaininglitigation and billing guidelines, panel law firm relations, and legal bill review. This collaborative and dynamic leader will engage across the organization, interfacing with senior leadership and various departments in support of the organizations long-term goals and objectives to drive profitable results. Key deliverables will be overseeing litigation operations, while strategically planning the expansion of the group. This is a retained search.
Responsibilities:
Uphold the vision and goals for the legal operations unit and individual members.
Create a mentorship program and facilitate successfullitigation management training of all claims supervisors.
Develop and oversee metric-based reports and analysis of all litigation matters.
Setlitigation management strategies, including the development and oversight of the litigation management audit process.
Oversee trial calendars for litigated claims, d
evelop a litigation strategy with senior claims leadership and a
ttend trials, as needed.
Create and oversee lessons learned on all litigated files.
Collaborate with staff counsel leadership to maximize success of the staff counsel operation.
Requirements:
10 years of property and casualty claims and/or litigation leadership experience
Deep knowledge of property and casualty lines of business
Strong foundation in legal operations and billing systems
Experience in adapting and implementing claims transformation efforts, including processes and technology
Demonstrated strengths in project management and achieving business goals and objectives
Bachelors degree or equivalent; insurance professional designations (preferred)
