The daily commitment of its employees to provide premium service focused on the customer first has earned Copper and Brass Sales the position of a respected leader in the nonferrous metals industry for over 80 years.Your responsibilitiesJob SummaryApply metal to customer orders and accurately process material according to the work order specifications using advanced machinery or having an advanced level of skill in the use of warehouse machinery. Ensure that processing equipment is maintained in a safe and clean condition. Maintain processing area in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Complete all required information entry accurately. Perform any other tasks as assigned.Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

  • Must be certified in the material handler position.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
  • Pull, inspect and verify product before processing
  • Properly and safely set up equipment to run material to set up note specifications.
  • Process set up notes according to work order specifications
  • Verify that product meets set up note specifications per written work instructions and record measurements (sampling plan)
  • Communicate with appropriate sales representative regarding changes/clarification to orders
  • Should be able to make recommendations to improve processes in the manufacturing area.
  • Perform equipment preventive maintenance
  • Properly enter/delete material identification tags per written instructions
  • Balance the immediate workload recognizing when help is needed and when to be the team player to dig right in and assist or direct others,
  • Perform general clean-up
  • Assist in the packaging of material per written work instructions and work order
  • Maintain issued measurement equipment in working condition
  • Properly operate weighing scale and record inspection measurements
  • Identify, record, and segregate scrap and any non-conforming material
  • Provide feedback to supervision regarding machine efficiency and product quality.
  • Perform quality checks during machine operation to insure proper function
  • Complete production/productivity logs and reconcile production data
  • Complete job responsibilities in a manner that does not put him/her or other individuals in an unsafe situation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • An individual must posses a high school diploma/ GED
  • 1 to 2 years machine operation experience
  • Ability to read and write
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
  • Perform basic math skills
  • Use of hand held measuring tools
