Thyssen Mining is a full-service underground mining contractor with several projects currently underway in Canada and the USA. Thyssen is currently looking for a Yard Attendant to work at our Spring Creek, NV Yard.

Reporting to the Equipment Asset Manager, the Yard Attendant will provide general maintenance and organization of equipment and materials in the yard. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the yard (grading & snow removal) and the facilities infrastructure and coordinate with local vendors for any repairs required. The Yard Attendant will need to track inventory for yard materials and mining equipment materials, organize and inventory sea containers in preparation for shipping, and pick up and drop off materials locally if required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A minimum 3 years previous experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of mining equipment with some mechanical inclination
• Ability to operate and maintain surface equipment (front end loader, zoom boom, forklift etc.)
• General carpentry skills (general repairs, constructing shipping containers etc.)
• Valid License and clear Driver Abstract
• Previous inventory experience is an asset
• Computer skills are an asset but not a requirement
• Ability to work independently
