- Works directly in QA inspection and testing to ensure that establishment and regulatory standards are met.
- First Article inspection using standard gages and record inspection results in accordance with established procedures.
- Records inspection results by completing reports.
- Interface with customer source inspectors and coordinate product acceptance when necessary.
- Monitoring the use of measuring equipment to ensure it is safe and accurate, discard any that do not meet requirements.
- Read prints, drawings, sketches, specifications, packing sheets and other written and verbal instructions.
- Perform other duties as needed such as gage calibrations.
- Knowledge of all types of tooling and gauges
- Should be capable of reading micrometers, telescoping gauges, calipers, comparator, indicators, etc.
- Be able to operate manual equipment
- Good problem solving skills, safety practices and attention to quality.
- Computer literate with experience in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Minimal amount of machining knowledge
- Math skills
- GD&T knowledge
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts
- Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds
- Frequently required standing, bending, squatting and reaching with hands and arms
- Regularly required to stand for long periods, walk, talk and hear
- Ability to use hand tools
- Ability to read applicable instructions
