Thrive is Hiring an Employment Specialist Near Iowa, IA

Are you passionate about helping others? Would a flexible schedule be appealing to you? Are you motivated and organized?

Thrive is accepting applications for part-time and full-time Employment Specialists in the Iowa City area. This could include areas of Johnson, Iowa, Cedar and Washington counties, depending on where you live. Employment Specialists perform some job coaching duties along with helping consumers build job skills, assisting with resume completion, interview preparation, job searches & applications, and communicating and marketing with community businesses.

The Job Coaching aspect is to help those with disabilities and other employment barriers to learn and perform their job duties to the best of their abilities. A job coach also helps ensure employers have great employees and assists our consumers in their new roles to grow and “Thrive” in their community employment!

If you have excellent communication skills, can work independently, and are passionate and professional about thriving to help others achieve their goals, apply with us! Starting wage is $17-$18 per hour, with the potential for a raise after a 90-day probationary period. ***Training for this position will start in January with the work to start in February***

We are a family-owned busy that offers flexible schedules, paid driving time, laptops, paid training, cellphone reimbursement, paid vacation & sick time, and paid holidays for full-time employees.

Candidates for this position should have a bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience, preferably in human services, sociology, psychology, education, human resources, marketing, sales, or business. Applicants must be able to pass a background check and complete all professional development standards required by the State of Iowa to be employed in a Community Rehabilitation Provider setting within the required timelines. Reliable transportation is required.
