Thrive Behavioral Health Center is Hiring a Certified Peer Recovery Supporter -(Franklin County) Near Columbus, OH

Position Summary:
At Thrive Behavioral Health Center, we deliver industry-leading peer support for those suffering from Mental Health and/or Substance use Disorders. We are proud to set the industry standard and continue our growth. A Peer Supporter is a trained individual who has lived experience with addiction to alcohol and/or drugs who provides one-to-one strengths-based support to peers in recovery, empowering them to make healthier choices on a day-to-day basis. The Thrive Behavioral Health Center Community Program connects Peer Recovery Coaches with individuals receiving other forms of behavioral health care. This program works to link peers with recovery support services.

Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent & Certified Ohio Peer Recovery Coach (preferred)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Help peers understand recovery, as well as identify and achieve their own recovery needs, wants, and goals
  • Provide information and opportunities for peers to direct their own recovery and advocacy processes - individualized recovery action plans will be utilized to assist and guide peers toward their own personal goals
  • Assist peers in finding resources for harm reduction, detoxification treatment, family support, and support groups
  • Teaches and supports the acquisition and utilization of skills needed to sustain recovery from substance use
  • Provide recovery resources to individuals and their family members
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records, confidentiality and compiling timely reports
  • Communicate with hospital staff to build a rapport and coordinate care
  • Advocate for the needs of each individual
  • Providing hope and help in changing patterns and behaviors
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Identify as a person in recovery with one year of successful recovery
  • Experience in Peer Recovery Services, Social Service, Customer Service or Non-Profit environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of different pathways to recovery and social systems including evidence-based practices
  • Understands problems analysis, decision-analysis, evaluate interventions, and contingency plans
  • Ability to be an active listener by asking questions and reflecting on what is being said
  • Proficient level of ability with a computer; Microsoft Office Products
  • Preferred experience with electronic health records or other types of applications and software
  • Effective written and oral communication skills; ability to articulate information clearly
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance
