Thrive Behavioral Consulting is Hiring an ABA Behavior Technician (RBT, ABAT, or BCAT) Near Norfolk, VA

Thrive Behavioral Consulting, LLC is looking to grow its team with the addition of talented and compassionate Behavior Technicians (RBTs, ABATs, or BCATs). TBC's mission is helping children, through strength-based learning, to thrive and gain as much joy as possible out of their world. TBC serves TRICARE families who have children with a diagnosis of autism and other exceptionalities. With this opportunity, BTs are able to make a positive impact on the lives of the families they work with while also maintaining an excellent work-life balance, with the freedom to pursue personal development and interests.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to customize your schedule and preferences while also supporting TBC's mission.

Compensation
: $19-25/hour depending on experience (consideration of higher hourly compensation will be given for individuals enrolled in or completing course sequence for BCaBA or BCBA certification).

  • Primarily servicing clients in Suffolk, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, and Norfolk; TBC will prioritize assigning families who live within a 30-minute radius of BT.

  • Ongoing supervision consistent with credentialing board’s requirements.
  • Bi-weekly direct deposit.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Working directly with clients in their home and community settings, as applicable.
  • Ongoing collection, recording, and management of client data to include updating supervisor on client status to routinely assist in monitoring progress.
  • May assist with assessment procedures, including assessments required by funding sources.
  • Implement Individualized Treatment Plan (ITP) during direct sessions to facilitate client’s skill acquisition.
  • Implement written behavior reduction plan during direct sessions, if applicable.
  • Use contingencies of reinforcement to provide a positive, fun, and safe learning environment for clients.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI) at all times.
  • BTs will receive and actively participate in supervision in accordance with credentialing board's guidelines.
  • Objective session note completion.
  • Attend and participate in meetings with supervisors to include team meetings, if applicable.
  • Effectively communicate with team members and supervisors in an ongoing manner to identify any potential issues or stalled progress with any client .
  • Regularly communicate with parents/caregivers in a way that facilitates professionalism and trust.

Required Qualifications:
  • MUST ALREADY BE CERTIFIED AS AN RBT, ABAT, or BCAT and must maintain certification requirements and be in good active standing.
  • High-school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years or older.
  • Ability to pass Criminal History Background Check (CHBC) to include current Federal, State, and County Criminal and Sex Offender reports for all locations candidate has resided and worked in during the previous 10 years.
  • Valid driver's license, current registration, and insurance and/or reliable transportation.
  • Possess or have ability to obtain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) equivalent certification upon hire.
  • Ability to produce at least one professional reference upon request.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Professional attitude and compassionate approach.
  • Commitment to upholding Professional and Ethical Compliance Codes for Behavior Technicians and providing quality services.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and conflict-resolution skills with the ability to establish trust and rapport with clients and parents/caregivers.
  • Willingness to travel to client homes (1-3 clients daily) and/or community settings, as applicable.
  • Willingness to abide by TBC company policy and procedures.
  • 1 year of ABA or special education experience with children with developmental disabilities preferred.
