STAFF JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Thrift Boutique Driver/Mover

PRINCIPAL FUNCTION(S):

Acts as driver/mover for a thrift store that provides an outreach to the community and promotes First Church ministries. Possibility for advancement.

PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direction of the Thrift Boutique Manager:

• Lifts and moves furniture to and from truck, store and warehouse, if any.
• Drives box truck with the ability to navigate from store to assigned designations and back.
• Notifies Manager and arranges needs for cleaning and maintenance of Church delivery truck, as directed and approved.
• Assists Manager in recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers who assist on the truck.
• Assists in store resets by moving boxes, furniture and other items, as needed.
• Helps with pricing and placement of items to be advertised on sales floor.
• May assist, as needed, with other duties as may be assigned.
• Demonstrates initiative, problem solving skills, and works well with others.
• Demonstrates leadership skills and a desire to grow in the ministry.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITES:

• Deals with customers during pickups and deliveries in a friendly, courteous and helpful manner.
• Shows the ability to work appropriately and cooperatively in a Christian ministry; supports a loving Christian environment for the volunteers and customers of the boutique.
• Is a team player and works with and through Staff, volunteers and congregation at all levels in a supportive and professional manner.
• Creates a loving environment for the volunteers and customers of the boutique.
• Continues to grow in the Driver/Mover position through increased knowledge of all appropriate operations, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

• Must be capable of lifting, carrying and/or moving heavy furniture items, with assistance as may be needed.
• Is a team player and works with and through Staff, volunteers and congregation at all levels in supportive Christian and professional manner.
• HS graduate with 2 or more years of experience in retail sales/service and/or delivery or its equivalent.
• Possesses the heart and ability to work with, delegate, communicate, instruct, and motivate volunteers through personal examples.
• Must be able to pass a Level 2 background check.
• If driving the truck, has valid Florida driver’s license and good driving record; must be approved by First Church’s Conference before hiring.

OTHER: (working conditions, hours of work, hourly pay etc.)

Located in an off-site store, incumbent is paid on an hourly basis and is expected to work primarily on Tuesdays and Thursdays on a flexible schedule as agreed upon and based on the needs of the Thrift Boutique for any given week. No minimum hours guaranteed.
