Threes Brewing is Hiring a Floor Manager Near Brooklyn, NY

The CompanyThrees Brewing is a brewery, bar, shop, and event space, with locations in Gowanus, Greenpoint, Moynihan Train Hall, Governors Island, and Huntington, Long Island.

The Role

Floor managers at Threes Brewing are responsible for overseeing all front-of-house (FOH) operations in the bars during opening, mid and closing shifts, including events. They support the General Manager in their mission to make sure the space and the staff have everything needed for daily success, and as the Manager on Duty (MOD), they supervise the overall flow of service on a shift-by-shift basis. Key responsibilities include managing floor staff and providing hospitable service with the goal of exceeding client expectations and fostering repeat business. Being present on the floor, liaising with the kitchen staff, checking in on private and public events, reinforcing right practices and making sure staff has the necessary support to meet their responsibilities is a large part of this job, as is making sure customers are getting good service through menu, product, and event education, staff accessibility and general hospitality. 

Responsibilities include: 

Daily Operations & Admin

  • Enact and enforce sanitary practices for Department of Health requirements and inspections, general cleanliness and maintenance of bar, dining and storage areas
  • Maintain and troubleshoot POS hardware and software
  • Receive and organize bar and event deliveries
  • Manage POS menus, including inputting, archiving, and day-of changes
  • Prepare materials, menus, space, and staff for private event execution
  • Maintain awareness and expertise regarding Threes beers, and all other beverage carried in-house, for the edification of staff and customers
  • Assist GM with additional admin, special projects and facilities issues as needed
  • Log notes for senior management team with event and service feedback to help fine tune Threes’ processes

Shift Execution 

  • Oversee staff arrival and subsequent set up of bar and floor for service
  • Prepare and distribute register banks at open; receive and confirm cash drops and banks at close
  • Run pre-shift meeting and disseminate pertinent information regarding day-of happenings, menu and inventory updates, and upcoming events
  • Set atmosphere in space: update signage and other promotional materials, select music, adjust volume and lighting throughout shift to ensure optimal vibe for our guests
  • Manage service by being present on the floor, informing and assisting our clientele, making sure procedures and protocols are being followed, and aiding staff in the execution of their duties
  • Liaise with kitchen manager to ensure cooperation and communication between front and back of house
  • Execute and manage private events
  • Observe employees to ensure the safe service of alcohol 
  • Observe customers to ensure the safety of all around them
  • Point of contact for customer complaints
  • Send detailed manager log at the end of each shift, detailing key points from the day including revenue, beer info, attendance on events, personnel and customer details, etc.

Requirements: 

  • 2 years experience in a food and beverage establishment
  • Interest in craft beer, cocktails, wine & an admiration for great service
  • Able to multitask, while remaining calm under pressure 
  • Self-starter/can-do attitude
  • Meticulously organized
  • Commitment to outgoing, friendly customer service
  • Warm and friendly vibe and strong, reassuring presence 
  • Willing and able to learn new systems, programs, procedures
  • Night and weekend availability
