About us

Three Stacks Distilling Co., LLC is a distillery located in Kinston, North Carolina. A high-capacity production craft distillery, the company produces and markets its brands, such as Social House Vodka, and offers contract distilling services, brokerage, barrel warehousing and packaging services.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and skilled individual to fill the role as a Production Associate, which is a versatile full-time position requiring a range of skillsets and work environments.

This position is involved in cleaning, equipment maintenance, bottling, packaging, warehousing, record keeping, mash cooking, fermenting, distilling, and general labor. This role may also involve operating a forklift.

A successful candidate must have professional communication skills, be versatile, ambitious, self-tasked and open to a fluid daily schedule, with a keen attention to detail.

Duties:

  • Maintain the distillery’s high standards of cleanliness and sanitation
  • Operate and maintain mashing and distillation, barrel filling, and bottling equipment
  • Monitor equipment controls and report abnormal activity or safety issues
  • Operate heavy equipment, such as forklift, scissor lift, and tractor
  • Maintain equipment and work environment to ensure high quality operating standards
  • Operate distillery management software system, record and report inventory
  • Record daily production logs relating to mashing, distillation, sampling, bottling, shipping and receiving
  • Read and interpret formulations, diagrams, and work orders
  • Use measuring instruments to ensure accuracy of product dimensions
  • Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to standards
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines
  • Will perform tasks as requested outside the above mentioned job duties as may be required from time to time.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • At least 21 years old
  • Valid NC Driver’s License
  • Strong orientation toward quality control and safety
  • Basic knowledge of fermentation and distillation
  • Communicates well with co-workers and customers
  • Proven ability to work independently, strives for excellence in their work
  • Cares about the customer and always provides exemplary customer service
  • Maintains a high degree of professionalism in both personal and professional life
  • This position operates on a shift work schedule. Must be able to work alternating weekends.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
  • Forklift experience is a plus
  • Proficient in using power tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements – Candidate should be able to lift at least 50lbs. from ground level and should also be able to move 200lbs. whiskey barrels from one location to another. Candidate should be physically capable of standing for long periods of time and able to kneel, stoop, crouch or crawl. Be willing and able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours) while reaching, bending, stooping and frequently lift.

Alcohol Responsibility – The candidate must fully understand that they are a representative of not only the company, but of the alcohol beverage industry. They are to conduct themselves within the limits of the law and with concern to the education of responsible consumption at all times. This includes working hours, trade shows, festivals and while entertaining in the name of the company or its affiliates. Any poor reflection or legal matters that may arise due to poor judgment may be dealt with by means of disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Work Environment – While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to hot and humid conditions in the summer and cool temperatures in the winter, airborne particles, chemicals, and moving machinery. The noise level in the work environment can be very loud.

Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
