Three Rivers is Hiring a General Superintendent (Industrial/Mechanical) Near Wyandotte, MI

Additionally, we provide design/build and construction services specializing in institutional, commercial building and maintenance services. We are looking for a talented and motivated individual for our Wyandotte office.
Primary Function: Implements, and reviews construction project plans and contracts for Industrial/Mechanical work. Supervises and directs construction personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the Assign and essential functions.)
  • Collaborates with other staff to create preconstruction estimates and budgets for materials, equipment and labor.
  • Collaborates with architect, engineer, and other pertinent stakeholders to ensure specifications, and other regulations are met.
  • Orders construction materials.
  • Validates required permits and licenses are in place; executes construction contracts according to terms of agreement.
  • Develops a schedule and cost-effective plan for completion of an assigned project.
  • Reviews daily activities.
  • Communicate with construction subcontractors/field staff to inform, discuss or enforce schedules, plans, and specifications.
  • Regularly inspects work for quality and timeliness; prepares and provides progress reports to owners and architects; makes recommendations for necessary modifications.
  • Monitors budget throughout the project and communicates variances as they occur.
  • Maintains records related to costs and inventory.
  • Enforces and follows through with all safety guidelines.
  • Travels to various job sites
  • Attends face-to-face meetings with clients, project progress meetings and internal departmental meetings.
  • Daily use of computer software including email, data entry; spreadsheets and word processing
  • Accountable for technical training and mentoring to ensure each employee is engaged and productive.
  • Regularly perform safety audit reviews.
  • Monitor productivity to ensure efficient resource utilization and make adjustments and procedural changes as required.
  • Consistent regular on-site attendance is a requirement of the job.
  • Works with Project Manager to manage and maintain office in Wyandotte.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Attends interviews and hires site workers
  • Approves timecards and requests for time off
  • Prepares work schedules and assignments
  • Communicates and enforces safety procedures and site rules
  • Conducts job performance reviews on crew members
  • Recommends salary adjustments fpr crew members
Qualifications:
Leadership skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to oversee and coordinate a variety of people in different roles.
Extremely detail-oriented organizational skills.
Project management skills. Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints, drawings, and plans.
Thorough understanding of legal requirements relating to construction and building sites.
Thorough understanding of quality building practices.
Ability to quickly identify problems and efficiently solve them.
Ability to efficiently use computer software that includes email, spreadsheets, word processing and data entry.
Education and/or Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years Industrial/Mechanical trade experience.
  • Pipefitting Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management preferred.
Physical Demands:
The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at office and construction job sites.
Must use safety equipment (PPE) where warranted. The noise level in the office is quiet and at job sites it is usually loud.
