Three Dog Bakery, Encino – Job Description (Baker - Decorator)

Three Dog Bakery Encino, a small, family owned, franchise store is currently seeking a part time (20-30 hours per week) or full time (40 hours per week) Baker/Decorator who will be responsible for customer service and baking and decorating our droolicious dog treats. If you have a love for dogs, enjoy baking and decorating, enjoy working in a smaller more intimate setting, have at least 2 years of retail experience and looking for a long-term position, you are just who we are looking for!

Hours of Operation: Mon-Fri 10am-7pm Sat-Sun 10am-6pm (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas & New Years)

Responsibilities:

• Work between 15-40 hours per week - Flexible/open schedule a huge plus!
• Baking, decorating and maintaining stock levels for all fresh-baked items
• Assisting Pastry chef with planning schedule & baking
• Maintain a clean and tidy workspace, store appearance and product presentation
• Work with customers and offer knowledgeable advice for products
• Answering phone calls and taking cake orders
• Receive, check-in, price, stock and merchandise product
• Provide continual creative suggestions and ideas for events, promotions, merchandising, new products and increasing store sales.

Skills Needed:

· Cake Decorating/Baking Knowledge (will train)

· Piping Skills

· Be willing to learn and take instruction well.

· Have an eye for detail and care about final product.

· Have an outgoing, POSITIVE personality and the ability to interact well with customers, other staff and dogs to make their experience in the bakery fun and enjoyable.

· Ability and willingness to keep busy throughout the day.

· Be organized and diligent with paperwork.

· Be accurate and knowledgeable with the POS system.

· Ability to research & learn new techniques.

· Physical stamina to stand for the majority of your shift. Ability lift heavier items to assist customers or pastry chef.

· Have a true love of dogs, to look out for their best interest and suggest beneficial products for their health, happiness and well-being.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year experience baking and decorating for baking (professional training not required)
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business
• Must be at least 18 years old and high school diploma or equivalent.
