Three Bears Resort is Hiring a Chief Engineer Near Warrens, WI

Three Bears Resort, in Warrens, WI., is currently accepting applications for a Chief Engineer. Ideal candidates will have previous leadership experience, hospitality maintenance experience, familiarity with waterparks, ability to train and develop others as well as exceptional time management and interpersonal skills. While the schedule for this position may regularly fall during the hours of 7am and 5pm, there may be at times coverage and needs for extended shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. 

Some of the responsibilities that this role may include, but are not limited to, are:

  • Participates in the executive management of hotel as a department head attending weekly staff meetings and supporting fellow managers.
  • Work with other departments to ensure smooth operations of the hotel.
  • Responsible for recruitment and retention of staff through sound hiring practices, proper training and development, and maintenance of a positive work environment.
  • Responsible for providing feedback in regards to employees’ performance including performance reviews, improvement plans, coaching and counseling and, progressive discipline.
  • Responsible for the management of the Preventive Maintenance Team ensure that rooms are proactively maintained, and the grounds properly kept.
  • Development of staff’s technical and professional skills for advancement within department.
  • Support and enforce all company procedures and policies as found in the administrative manual and handbook. Some examples are hiring, terminations, attendance, uniforms and core values of the organization.
  • Responsible for efficiently managing your department to meet budgetary goals including scheduling, time edits, monitor labor as well as expenses.
  • Prioritize and complete work orders in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain professional relationships and timely correspondence with outside contractors and vendors.
  • Keep accurate records of key control program.
  • Responsible for all repairs and upkeep of equipment and buildings including the hotel, waterpark and restaurant. This includes conduct regular inspections of the property to identify areas that need repair or improvement. 
  • Promote, train and practice safety standards at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and well-groomed appearance at all times in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Uphold, support, and promote all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years' experience in maintenance or related field required.
  • A minimum of three years in a management position preferred.
  • Must be a Certified Pool Operator or able to obtain CPO certification.
  • Intermediate use of Microsoft software programs including Excel, Word, PowerPoint Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Driver’s license Language Skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Excellent communications skill with ability to vary style to fit the situation.
  • Must be available for needed repairs in emergency situations.
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to instruct, direct and motivate staff.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
