We design repairs, renovations and alterations and oversee their execution in the field.

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Structural Engineer at the Associate level in our Restoration & Renewal Practice in the New York Metro area.

We are looking for a candidate with experience in structural investigation and design relating to existing building renovations / expansions, adaptive reuse and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Completing structural analysis and rehabilitation design of concrete, steel, timber, masonry, and other structural systems.
• Coordination of design work with in-house staff as well as other consultants including Architects and other Engineering disciplines, Cost Consultants, and Contractors.
• Projects will be in structural renovations, repair, and expansions of existing structures buildings.
• Communicate with clients to understand project requirements and coordinate project workflow and deliverables.
• Manage and mentor other design team members and supervise the work of engineering and drafting persons.
• Direct project staff in preparing Contract Documents, including structural drawings and specifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (discipline specific : structural engineering).
• Experience evaluating and designing alternations / repairs for existing buildings / structures.
• Professional Engineer (PE) and / or Structural Engineer (SE) License required; License in NY preferred.
• Ability to manage and monitor project financials include fee proposals, billing and profitability is preferred.
• Ability and willingness to commute to job sites throughout NY Metropolitan area.
