Logistics Operator/Driver: $19.00 hr.

POSITION SUMMARY: follows Inventory Warehouse Department procedures and performs specific duties based on the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) for the Inventory Warehouse Department. 

RESPONSIBILITIES – Satisfactorily performing and/or achieving the following Responsibilities are essential duties of the job. 

  • Becomes knowledgeable of the applicable provisions of the Inventory Management Department’s Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and follows them. Employee remains knowledgeable on an ongoing and timely basis as changes in the SOPs and cGMPs occur. 
  • Is at work as scheduled, starts work at the beginning of a shift, is on time to meetings, completes assigned tasks in a timely manner, and works weekends or overtime as required. 
  • Knows and follows the Distribution Department policies and procedures and Thorne Research policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Pays attention to detail, complete paperwork accurately, neatly, and fully. 
  • Transports needed materials to and from Thorne Research’s manufacturing and warehousing sites. 
  • Becomes forklift certified and loads and unloads delivery vehicle and stage for putting away. 
  • Prioritizes items that are needed in a timely manner to meet demand. 
  • Cautious and safe automobile driver with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with no traffic violations. 
  • Becomes cross-trained and willingly works in different areas as assigned. 
  • Gets along with co-workers and supervisors. Respond appropriately to criticism and instructions from supervisors. Follow the Standards of Conduct as outlined in the latest version of the Thorne Research Employee Handbook. 
  • Maintains order integrity and transfers product physically as well as virtually in NAV ERP system. 
  • Accurately and efficiently pulls product needed to be transported and demonstrates attention to detail (for example, making sure right product and lot number are pulled). 
  •  Accurately and efficiently builds and shrink wraps pallets for distribution

RECEIVING AREA DUTIES: 

  • Receives and verifies incoming raw materials, ensuring accepted materials are in adequate condition by observing containers, cartons, bags and/or drums. Verifies materials are intact and not punctured, defaced or contaminated. 
  • Enters the received material into the computer system. 
  • Receives and verifies packaging materials received to ensure they are correct and in usable condition. 
  • Places raw material and packaging components in holding areas and ensures proper paperwork is affixed and complete. Assists in the segregation of rejected material, returns to manufacturer and disposal of rejected raw materials. 
  • Controls security in the receiving area by prohibiting unauthorized personnel from entering. 
  • Utilizes equipment (forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, etc.) in receiving area and ensures safety is not compromised. 
  • Completes projects and responsibilities to a satisfactory end without supervision. 

*This is a non-exempt (hourly) position.

What You Need:

  • Experience and/or Education: High school diploma is required. Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Physical Ability: Ability to move or lift items weighing up to 55 pounds from floor to table and from table to floor, often repetitively.
