POSITION SUMMARY: The Email & SMS Marketing Specialist is responsible for creating and executing email and SMS marketing campaigns that support Thorne’s brand and growth objectives. This role will be instrumental in driving customer acquisition, engagement, and improving customer retention. He/she will be responsible for email marketing and developing and executing promotions. 

RESPONSIBILITIES – Satisfactorily performing and/or achieving the following Responsibilities are essential duties of the job. 

Email Marketing 

• Leverage imagination to create and develop email marketing messages from initial idea generation and briefing through asset delivery, partnering closely with the Creative team in the development of messaging, creative, and calls to action. 
• Collaborate with Product Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, and others to support other teams’ needs through email. 
• Imagine new segmentation strategies and build creative automated emails with the goal of improving engagement, conversion, and retention. 
• Report on email performance for the monthly Marketing Performance Report, track KPIs for both marketing and automated emails, and provide trend analysis for customer behavior. 
• Develop new A/B testing plans to optimize revenue, engagement, and retention from email. 
• Develop, test, and launch new customer journeys within Iterable and optimize existing ones based on performance. 
• Conduct regular competitive research and share learnings on other brands’ email messaging strategies. 
• Create and conduct customer surveys to gain feedback on product launches, new ideas, and satisfaction with Thorne.  Support professional customers’ business development and their client relationships through email and online dispensing strategies.

SMS Marketing 

• Support Thorne’s implementation and launch of SMS. 
• Creatively generate new uses for SMS communication. 
• Working with the Senior Manager, Engagement & Retention Marketing, set SMS-related campaign goals, develop KPIs, analyze overall effectiveness, and identify areas of improvement. 

Other 

• Collaborate across the Marketing team to design and implement new and creative marketing strategies to disseminate content across email, SMS, and other channels. 
• Promote the Company’s Mission and Values, including an accountable, innovative, and results-oriented culture that promotes customer service, openness, teamwork, mutual trust, and respect.
• Seek formal and informal performance assessments, including performance versus expectations and goals, behaviors, and leadership potential. 
• Actively participate in required training, development programs, and electives as suits one’s needs, and support colleagues, trainers, and management as appropriate with these efforts.

EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES / PROFICIENCIES – Satisfactorily achieving and/or meeting the following Experience, Competencies, and Proficiencies are essential duties of the job: 

• Bachelor’s degree required. 2 years’ experience required in digital marketing, including 1 year of experience in an email marketing role and 1 year of experience in SMS marketing. 
• Experience with and thorough knowledge of Google Analytics and Microsoft Excel. 
• Excellent written, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
• Computer Skills: Employee can use the equipment and software required to accomplish the responsibilities of the position. 
• Basic understanding of HTML/CSS preferred. 
• Basic understanding of UTM and tracking parameters preferred. 
• Prior experience with email marketing, web analytics, and social analytics preferred. 
• Prior experience with Iterable preferred. 
• Highly analytical and able to derive meaning from data through testing and campaign optimization.
