Thorne Ambulance Svc is Hiring an Event Medic (Part-Time) Near Greenville, SC

Thorne Ambulance Service (TAS) provides Basic and Advanced Life Support services to a variety of event venues. Through our well-established partnerships, we provide coverage to high school, collegiate, and professional athletics, in addition to some of the largest music and entertainment acts across South Carolina. Providing these services on more than 300 occasions per year, TAS seeks to establish a well credentialed and qualified team of providers to ensure these services are delivered with compassion and professionalism.

Position Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of hire
  • Must possess a high school Diploma or GED (degree preferred)
  • Must have and maintain certification as a State & Nationally Registered Paramedic
  • Must possess: 
    1. a valid and current BLS for Healthcare Providers credential
    2. Current ACLS credential
    3. PHTLS & PALS (preferred)
    4. Defensive Driving Credential (preferred)
    5. NIMS 100, 200, 700 & 800 (preferred)
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, move 150lbs independently (300lbs with a partner)
  • Be able and willing to be seated, standing, walking, etc. for long periods of time
  • Have the ability to work in extreme temperatures based on environmental conditions.
  • Have the ability to successful mitigate stressful situations with co-workers, other healthcare providers, patients, and the public.
  • Flexibility to respond to emergency and non-emergency requests for service at any given moment while on shift.

Summary:

The Event Paramedic is responsible for the oversight of all operational and clinical care associated with their assigned unit and event venue, for the duration of their shift. This includes communication with patients, the public, dispatch, hospitals, etc. In addition, the Paramedic will be required to respond to various requests for service and will provide Basic Life support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) care as requested by the PSAP and/or designated communications center. All responses and patient contacts will require the efficient, timely, and accurate completion of patient care reports via an electronic submission method. Other duties may be assigned as availability and organizational needs allow. Above all else, the Paramedic will serve with compassion and professionalism.
