Assesses, designs, presents or manages, and evaluates educational programs, in-service and orientation for designated Nursing and Non-Nursing personnel that falls within the general nurse educator’s assigned set of departments/facilities or service area, using the hospital market model. Assists with competency development and maintenance of department-specific competencies and specialty certification. Consistently collaborates with the leadership team to ensure that all educational programs, in-service, and orientation remains relevant to the goals established by the hospital market and at the corporate level.

Qualifications - External
• Current RN Licensure in state of Texas

• CPR/BLS certification
• Certified instructor for/of certification(s) required by staff in assigned service area(s) – within 6 months of hire
• Three to five years of progressively responsible nursing experience relative to the designated clinical services.

• Demonstrated leadership skills and a commitment to education as a methodology for promoting continuous quality improvement in the delivery of patient care and services.

• Prior teaching/precepting experience.
