Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Utility Line Locator to join our team. As a Utility Line Locator, you will be responsible for locating and marking underground utility lines to ensure their safety during construction and excavation projects. This is a vital role that requires attention to detail and the ability to work in various outdoor environments. Duties: - Operate equipment such as backhoes, forklifts, and cabling machines to assist in utility line locating - Use specialized tools and equipment to accurately locate underground utility lines - Follow blueprints and maps to determine the location of utility lines - Mark the location of utility lines using flags, paint, or other markers - Communicate with construction crews and contractors to ensure the safe excavation of utility lines - Conduct field surveys and inspections to identify potential issues or hazards - Maintain accurate records of utility line locations and any changes or updates Skills: - Proficient in operating backhoes, forklifts, and other equipment used in utility line locating - Strong knowledge of utility locating techniques and best practices - Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, and other technical documents - Familiarity with land surveying principles and techniques - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail - Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with construction crews and contractors - Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively This is a full-time position with competitive pay.
