POSITION OVERVIEW

Thompson Truck Group is currently seeking an individual to join our team as a Parts Counter Sales Representative.

In this role you will have the opportunity to :

  • Assist customers with their auto parts questions and needs, either in person or via telephone
  • Handle cash and other purchasing transactions
  • Effectively communicate features, benefits, and warranty policy information to customers
  • Coordinate and arrange daily order shipments, deliveries and pick up
  • Maintain records of repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates and special-order parts
  • Issue parts return credits as outlined in company guidelines, maintaining accuracy of information for price verification

Individuals who are successful in this role are team players with a strong commitment to customer service, have a willingness to learn new products and product updates and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

POSITION MINIMUM & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 months prior customer service experience
  • Minimum 2 years prior parts sales experience
  • Basic computer knowledge to include Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Parts DMS system experience preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include some weekends, evenings and holidays

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is primarily located in a retail / shop environment with occasional exposure to spray chemicals and batteries.

Prolonged periods of standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, and reaching can be expected.

The ability to lift 150 pounds is required.
