Job Summary:
Coordinate with Interdepartmental staff & outside vendors to determine purchasing requirements. Work with
vendors to optimize working relationship and lead times. Periodically perform price analysis to ensure a high level
of cost efficiency. Perform technical & difficult clerical work with accuracy, speed, and with minimum supervision.
Compile data for analysis and maintain purchasing files to provide reference records.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Obtain quotes & establish relationships with vendors to procure goods and services at the lowest price.
• Create, manage, & close out Purchase Orders
• Convert Purchase Requisitions into Purchase Orders
• Research/shop new vendors and/or materials
• E-Procurement (materials, services, & supplies)
• Compare product deliveries with purchase order dates for on time metrics.
• Reconcile invoice issues with Suppliers & Finance
• Special projects and any other duties as assigned.
• Conduct training for the Procurement team (requisitioners and approvers)
• Work with Management teams to support production procurement needs.
Required Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or GED is required. Some college & APICs Certification is preferred.
• 18 to 36 months procurement experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Products ERP Software is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal communications skills (written and verbal) with the ability to effectively
communicate at all levels within the organization and suppliers.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
• Regularly required to sit, stand, or walk. Sitting for long periods at a desk.
• Walking both an office and manufacturing environment.
