Some of these attractions include the annual Missouri State Fair, the Katy Trail State Park (240-mile biking/walking/running trail that extends to St. Louis), historic downtown scene, as well as a variety of local parks, museums, and outdoors activities.
Not to mention, we are also conveniently located just 50 miles west of Jefferson City and Columbia, 35 miles north of the Lake of the Ozarks, and 75 miles east of Kansas City for weekend activities or travel. Job Responsibilities/Requirements: Veterinary technicians must be registered or licensed to apply for this position. Requirements of this position include: good client communication and phone skills, basic computer literacy skills, ability to multitask in busy atmosphere, ability to lift 50 pounds, write legibly, dress professionally (scrubs), show up on time for each shift (including Saturdays as needed), ability to administer injections, perform venipuncture, take vitals, restrain animals when necessary for examination or treatment, provide treatments/medication as necessary, and working well independently and in group settings.
Other responsibilities include assisting veterinarians in medical procedures (including surgical), maintaining and using medical equipment, performing routine laboratory procedures and analyses, preparing samples for outside laboratory analysis, monitoring patients under anesthesia, inducing anesthesia and intubation, initiating emergency procedures, maintaining pharmacy records/test logs, taking and developing radiographs, performing dental cleanings, completing ear cleanings and nail trims, and performing other duties as needed.
