Thompson Construction Group, Inc. is Hiring a Quality Systems Specialist Near Richmond, VA

JOB SUMMARY

Candidate will maintain a Quality Management System for Thompson in an FDA regulated environment for tobacco cleaning work on-site at a tobacco manufacturing facility in Richmond, VA. The Quality Systems Specialist will manage all required Quality System documentation including a site Quality Manual, Quality System training for employees, Records Retention procedures, TPMP training, FDA protocols, Work Instructions and other required quality system documents. The candidate will work closely with Thompson and Customer s Management teams to ensure compliance with all company and customer required quality documentation and training.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain Thompson s Quality Management System (QMS) for the site to ensure compliance with FDA expectations around Tobacco Product Manufacturing Practices (TPMPs).
  • Maintain documents related to Thompson s cleaning and sanitation program, including cleaning instructions, work instructions, and forms. Create and revise documents, as necessary to maintain compliance.
  • Review completed records for good documentation practices and file hardcopy and electronic records according to established procedures. Ensure records are retrievable for investigations and audits throughout the record retention period.
  • Train employees on Thompson s QMS including Document and Record Management, Change Management, CAPA, and Internal Audit Programs.
  • Work closely with Thompson s management team to ensure employees are trained on all aspects of their jobs. Assist supervisors with training documentation when bringing on new laborers.
  • Use the Learning Management System to record training events and run reports to track adherence to employee learning plans.
  • Maintain the Internal Audit Schedule and track action items to closure.
  • Maintain the quality logs for CAPA and Change Control Records. Track records to closure. Provide weekly updates to Thompson s management team.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly metrics for Thompson s management team.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Work experience in a quality management system desired.
  • Knowledge of FDA and GMP practices preferred.
  • Familiarity with workplace health and safety concepts.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office products, email systems, and Windows.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and able to complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Exercise independent thinking and reasoning.
  • Able to communicate in written and oral formats with diplomacy and tact.
  • Candidate will be required to pass a drug test and Criminal background check based on job location/requirements.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb, bend, twist, stand and reach repetitively.
  • Work in hot/cold/damp/cramped environments
  • 40 or more hours per week with possible shift/weekend work
  • Background check and Chemical Screen based on job location/requirements
