Responsible for the safety and security of all Jefferson employees, students, visitors, staff and property. As designated by the shift supervisor, police officers patrols the Jefferson campus either on foot or on bicycle and monitors the environment of safety at various locations on campus. The police officer will respond to all serious incidents on campus and take the appropriate action in accordance with Federal, State, Local and Organizational laws and policy. Must be available to work all shifts and must be able to rotate between shifts in accordance with organizational needs.
Essential Functions
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associatersquo;s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred.
Experience: Security experience or prior Law Enforcement or Military experience required.
Applicants must be a graduate of a Pennsylvania municipal/state police academy or out of state municipal/state police academy that is recognized by MPOETC. If applicant does not have prior municipal/state police certification, the applicant must successfully complete a Municipal Police Officer#39;s Training Academy that is recognized by MPOETC. Must have valid driver#39;s license. Act 235F certification is required, meets the requirements of Act 501. Must be able to pass Physical Fitness, Psychological, and Drug testing examinations established by Jefferson for this position (all divisions). Knowledge of basic safety and security practices along with basic investigative techniques. Maintain proficiency and meet firearm qualification requirements. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Knowledge if ICS, NIMS emergency response procedures.
Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jeffersonrsquo;s clinical entities or at the University.
