Primary Responsibilities:

Under the general supervision of the Manager Medical Education, and in conjunction with the Associate Dean/DIO, is primarily responsible for coordinating the administrative activities and the day to day operations of Undergraduate Medical Education to promote and facilitate efficient and effective services of the Abington Hospital ndash; Jefferson Health (AH) Medical Education Programs.

  • Meets all standards of the Patient Satisfaction Initiative Criteria in order to make Abington ndash; Jefferson Health (AJH) the hospital of choice for Patients and Employees.
  • Coordinates the administrative activities of the department including: on-boarding of medical students/residents along with coordination of contracts, educational conferences, faculty appointment, affiliation agreements, meetings, required documentation (policies, flu, etc.) and reports (statistical and other) for internal and external agencies.
  • Working with leaders at Academic Institutions, including School(s) of Medicine and Physician Assistants, AH clerkship faculty members, as well as student coordinators, participates in planning, development and implementation/updating of educational programs for medical students/residents including medical student and resident orientation.
  • Manages various special projects in order to facilitate continuous department operations and in accordance with regulatory requirements and the needs of Undergraduate Medical Education (primary) and Graduate Medical Education (secondary) departments.
  • Coordinates, maintains and educates others in the software database(s). Records in and audits the database for data quality and integrity. Maintain all records and ensures the integrity of data and the compliance with School(s) of Medicine/Residency Programs and regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinates and/or participates in special events, such as white coat ceremony, yearbook, AJH Pre Med program, recruitment fairs, site visits, corporate partnerships, etc.
  • Tracks expenditures and reviews departmental budgetary expenses, as appropriate to ensure departments maintain targets
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • 3 years coordinator/project management experience required. Experience working in healthcare strongly preferred

  • Bachelorrsquo;s degree in Healthcare Administration or related field required

  • Valid Driverrsquo;s License

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization, work effectively in a team environment and independently, prioritize responsibilities, manage multiple tasks, and to learn new software programs.

  • Must be detail oriented. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Current auto insurance with proof of coverage required.

  • Must possess a driving record free from major violations within the past five years, and maintain an acceptable driving record with no major violations in accordance with Motor Vehicle Regulations and Abington ndash; Jefferson Healthrsquo;s auto insurance policy.

  • Any and all major violations incurred must be immediately reported to the manager, department head, or Human Resources department.
