Thomas Jefferson University & Jefferson Health is Hiring a Lead Respiratory Therapist (Full-Time) Torresdale Near Philadelphia, PA

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Under the supervision of the Respiratory Manager and supervisors, the Lead Respiratory Therapist assumes delegated unit specific leadership responsibilities that assist in human, fiscal, and other resources needed to facilitate clinical practice associated with patient needs. He/she advances and oversees patient care standards through the supervision of the unit for their designated shift. He/she is competent to provide care for their clinical areas.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Meets all standards of the Patient Satisfaction Initiative Criteria in order to make Abington ndash; Jefferson Health (AJH) the hospital of choice for Patients and Employees.
  1. Oversees the human, fiscal and other resources needed to facilitate evidence based practice and patient care for those patients with respiratory care needs within the organization.
  1. Facilitates staffing assignments to ensure all areas are covered to give appropriate and adequate patient care.
  1. Collaborates with Department leaders to support the development of licensed respiratory personnel to achieve and maintain staff competency.
  1. Utilizes time management, conflict resolution, problem solving, and delegation skills to maximize effectiveness in this role.
  1. Performs other duties as assigned
  1. Experience:

3 years respiratory experience required. Previous leadership experience preferred

  1. Education amp; Training:

BS required.

  1. License, Certification amp; Registration:

Current Commonwealth of Pennsylvania R.R.T.; B.C.L.S. certification required. NRP and PALS certification as appropriate based on dept. requirements and areas of responsibility.

  1. Other Requirements:

Good organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated leadership ability. Strong problem resolution, time management, and problem solving skills.
