POSITION SUMMARY
The Team Leader position will directly oversee and support up to 15 production technicians with training, technical needs, and production guidance. This hourly employee reports directly to the Production Supervisor.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Notifies respective parties on non-conforming parts.
· Inspects and measures assembled work pieces to verify conformance to specifications.
· Oversees and assists in machine startup.
· Conducts routine safety and equipment inspections.
· Reviews Equipment, Pokayoke, Daily Inspection, and Daily Performance Reports and signs off accordingly.
· Updates Gemba Boards daily.
· Assures technicians are trained on how to record proper operating and material information for production.
· Assures technicians are trained on proper operation of equipment and changeovers.
· Trains new trainers.
· Performs housekeeping to maintain production and operations in neat and orderly condition.
· Participates in problem solving to make necessary equipment repairs or process corrections to maintain required production quality and volume.
· Assists the supervisor and make recommendations on evaluations, and disciplinary actions but does not perform them.
· Provides production or operations support as directed by supervisor or other management.
· Conducts Observation Reports at required frequency.
· Explains and demonstrates lock out / tag out.
· Assures the completion of periodic P.M’s.
· Leads or participates in scrap reduction activities.
· Conducts start of shift meetings.
· Assists in component and finished goods material handling when needed.
· Responds and dispositions Red Alarms.
· In the absence of the supervisor, the team leader will serve as backup person.
