That's why we're on the search for a superstar Senior Software Engineer, to work with the Payments team, and help us play our part in reinventing the world of hospitality tech and travel.

As a Senior Software Engineer on our Paymentsteam, you will help deliver an exceptional product experience to our customers all around the world. This could be for hotel guests, creating a user experience that makes travelers feel welcome, comfortable, and inspired to share the joy of travel with others. Or it could be for our accommodation providers, building trusted, simple, easy-to-use features to support key aspects of their daily business. 

Our development strategy is to deliver trusted, scalable, and reliable products leveraging the best of modern technologies, tools, and standards. For the Senior Software Engineering role, we are looking for someone who has worked with a broad range of patterns, practices, libraries, and frameworks. You will participate in strategic decisions regarding the use of libraries and tools. You will assist with the refinement of requirements, architectural design, exploratory development, creation of new components, and the adoption of new tools and techniques.

Location:US/Canada/LATAM (Remote)

What You Will Do: 

  • Improve and maintain the frontend code in legacy technologies
  • Implement features and improvements in React, React-Native, and Typescript.
  • Engage in discussions on complex technical concepts and requirements with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Write clean, well-tested, well-documented, and beautiful code. 
  • Support a team environment where skill, knowledge, and capability are fostered and highly valued. 
  • Drive the optimization and flexibility of our software engineering process, ensuring we get the best outcome possible from TDD, CI/CD, DDD, and Agile approaches. 
  • Drive progress in planning, prioritizing, and executing assigned tasks within deadlines.
  • Assist in researching new technologies to ensure the best fit, quality, and outcome. 
  • Collaborate effectively on technical design, with peers on complex features. 
  • Help maintain test suites
  • Maintain backend code in PHP and/or Java.

You’ll Succeed With:

  • 5 years of front-end web development experience.
  • 2 years of backend development experience (e.g. PHP or Java)
  • A good product sense and the ability to empathize with our customers.
  • Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript programming (Typescript and React), testing, design patterns, and best practices and technologies.
  • Experience with modern libraries in the React ecosystem, including styled-components, routing, state management, etc.
  • Experience with package and module bundlers like Rollup, Parcel, and Webpack5.
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling, including GitHub Actions, Workflows.
  • Experience with Distributed Systems, and Event-driven architectures
  • Experience with Web browser networking & Websockets.
  • Experience with the AWS platform

Nice to Have: 

  • Experience with Webpack Module Federation
  • Experience working with a remote-first and globally distributed team
  • Experience with other languages, e.g. specifically PHP and/or Java
  • Travel industry experience is a plus but not required.
  • Experience in the Payments domain is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with deployment tooling including AWS CLI, Serverless, and Terraform

Compensation: Depending on your skills and experience, you can expect your annual compensation to be between $120K-$160K.
