Position Summary:

This position is responsible for performing routine clerical duties related to consumer and business loan applications. The position will process consumer, commercial and real estate loan payments and advances on lines of credit, coordinate loan documentation with various parties including title companies, attorneys and loan operations, and assist in clearing insurance. In addition, the role will promote business for the Bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services.

1. Operate personal computer to process account activity, determine balances, and resolve problems within given authority.
2. Responsible for Loan Information Systems, including core loan system, monitoring systems, tracking and tickler systems
3. Responsible for management reports related to loans, including board reports and monitoring reports
4. Responsible for Loan Exceptions Management
5. Responsible for Loan Imaging
6. Act as primary contact with customers, Lender and Loan Administration through the loan process.
7. Assist Lender and act as secondary customer contact in Lender’s absence.
8. Coordinate loan documentation through Loan Operations and works directly with attorney and title company on real estate loan closings. Excellent knowledge and understanding of the documentation required to complete various types of loans. Conducts a pre-closing and a post-closing file review and forwards the Loan Operations area for booking.
9. Primary liaison with the loan administration, loan operations, Treasury Management, Credit and any other department that has direct or indirect impact on the customer and maintain strong partner relationship with these departments.
10. Assist in gathering financial statements in anticipation of credit renewals or reviews.
11. Follow policies and procedures; complete tasks correctly and on time; support the Bank’s goals and values.
12. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type:

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Travel:

No travel is expected for this position.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This position uses office equipment such as computers, phones, copy and fax machines, calculators, filing cabinets and printers.

Physical Demands:

This position will be responsible for writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 50 pounds), driving, carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching.

Mental Demands:

The incumbent in this position must be able to accommodate to reading documents or instruments, detailed work, problem solving, customer contact, reasoning, math, language, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, stress, multiple concurrent tasks and constant interruptions.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); some college is preferred and at least seven (7) years of banking experience and/or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of customer service and loan documentation or loan processing experience as well as experience with real estate lending and at least three (3) to five (5) years lending assistant experience, two (2) years new account experience. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
• Knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank operational policies.
• Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; and word processing, spreadsheet and account opening software programs.
• Intermediate typing skills to meet production needs of the position.
• Basic math skills; calculate interest and balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Current driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
