About The PositionWe are seeking an experienced medicinal chemist to optimize and advance compounds into clinical development. The successful applicant will work as part of an interdisciplinary team of scientists, lead research projects in pursuit of novel small molecule therapeutics, and mentor junior staff.
Responsibilities
- Design novel small molecule compounds and lead internal and external chemistry teams
- Integrate inputs from computational chemistry, structural biology, enzymology, and biophysics into focused chemistry strategies
- Prepare presentations and present data to both our internal team and external partners
- Supervise and mentor junior staff
- Contribute to target selection, platform development, and portfolio strategy.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in medicinal chemistry and biophysical methods, including computational tools and high-throughput biochemical methods, and integrate cutting-edge techniques and technologies into Think Bioscience's discovery processes.
- Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial med chem experience
- Track record of developing novel hits into leads and candidates
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience managing scientific collaborations and CRO outsourcing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Experience with patent applications and IP strategy for small molecule therapeutics.

- Competitive compensation and benefits package, including a salary range of $130,000 - $180,000 per year. (title and salary commensurate with experience)
