Work on building the algorithms that optimize the bids placed on behalf of The Trade Desk, Inc.'s clients by relying on finding trends in data. Collect numerous disparate datasets that all have different sources of information on The Trade Desks platform to successfully determine optimal bid for a client. Determine the optimal bid price for The Trade Desks clients by using good data as inputs by ensuring the data being used is valid, accurate, and applicable. Perform optimization algorithm utilizing principles found in economics and engineering. Utilize developing software applications and programming to effectively contribute to the optimization algorithms. Responsible for developing and executing experimental designs to measure the effectiveness of those improvements and test any changes to the optimization algorithm. Responsible for ensuring data is clean for the core dataset to build the optimization algorithm, and decide what data to collect and how much of it in order to register an effective test to test improvements to the algorithm. Responsible for the design phase where the work is scoped out, including determining whether or not it is actually needed to use statistical methods to solve a problem, or whether there is either something else in the platform already that solves the problem or a more direct way of solving the problem. Responsible for identifying risks and edge cases and evaluate where there are limitations and potential reliability issues. Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related role. Must have four (4) years of experience with Convex and Non-Convex optimization.
