Position Location: ThermTech
Position Hours: FULLTIME
1st shift - Monday - Friday 6 AM - 2:30 PM with some overtime.
Position Wage: Competitive salary commensurate with education and experience.

Job Description: The Production Controller is responsible for scheduling departmentalwork and allocating resources to ensure an efficient and effective product flow.The Production Controller must be an exceptional servant leader. Communicateslead time and turnaround to Customer Service and key customer accounts. Ensurethe training and development of all department employees. Maintain safetystandards and manage 6S standards within the facility. The ProductionController is a working supervisor position that expects to ensure work iscorrectly built, loads are correctly combined, and production personnel issupported as necessary.
Responsibilities:

Employee Development

  • TheProduction Controller must understand and support training, coaching, anddisciplinary actions for all team members and understand the training systemand time clock systems.
  • TheProduction Controller must participate in Leadership Development and team-buildingactivities.
  • Responsiblefor entering any safety concerns and maintenance issues discussed duringmeetings and discovered by employees.
  • Communicateand train personnel regarding process changes during shift meetings to ensurepersonnel are informed of new or changed processes.

Workflow

  • Theproduction controller is responsible for developing and accurately maintainingthe production furnace schedules, ensuring furnace loads are appropriatelycombined and loads created to ensure a continuous workflow.
  • Directsall departmental employees on day-to-day activities and ensures furnaces runper process and pull on time.
  • Responsiblefor managing the incoming area and developing a plan to expedite workeffectively and efficiently.
  • Responsiblefor recording downtime accurately and generating corrective action to addressnegative trends.
  • Responsiblefor ensuring that jobs that will be late are communicated to Customer Serviceand the customer to maintain exceptional customer relationships.
  • Managesthe turnaround metrics, promises, and default delivery dates.

Process Monitoring

  • TheProduction Controller performs real-time monitoring of furnace charts to ensureconformance with work order requirements and ensures all employees completedaily furnace check sheets.
  • Ensuresall equipment is operating correctly and secures assistance to rectify thecondition.
  • Assistsoperators in monitoring and correcting issues.

Communication

  • TheProduction Controller must and contribute to the weekly departmentalmaintenance meeting, weekly quality meeting, and 6S meeting.
  • TheProduction Controller should have outward facing contact with criticaldivisional accounts.
  • Mustchair and contribute to the daily inter-shift production meetings.

Manage 6S

  • Theplant controller allocates resources to maintain work areas and the basicworking conditions of the facility and equipment.
  • Performs a daily walk-around assessment ofplant condition and sources of damage and takes the appropriate actions tocorrect.
  • Determines and manages the daily, weekly,and monthly 6S cleaning schedules.
  • Ensures all employees, includingthemselves, meet or exceed the 6S requirements of the facility.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY FOR POSITION:
All hires are contingent upon a 9-panel hair follicle drug test & background check.
Education:
College Degree or equivalent preferred.
Experience:

·Aminimum of three years of heat-treating experience. A thorough understanding ofthe recruiting, interviewing, and hiring processes. Experience in training anddeveloping employees.

Skills:
Ability to function well within a high performing team and as a teamleader and team member. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Effective relationship management. Display critical evaluation skill. Theability to be a servant leader.

  • Understand and efficiently use Bluestreak & Microsoft Office software.
