Our Global Chemicals business has exceptional growth potential. Global Chemicals was built from several acquisitions and provides a full range of analytical reagents and discovery chemicals to Thermo Fisher’s core research markets worldwide. Global Chemicals has been identified as a strategic growth area for the company with expansion opportunities in the US, Europe and developing markets, particularly Asia. Global Chemicals has 14 operational facilities in the US, Europe, and Asia, and sells a significant portion of its products through Thermo Fisher customers channels group in major Western markets.

A day in the Life:

• Directs, stages and places all material in or outside the building, using proper material handling equipment.
• Picks, prepares, packages, documents, labels and ships all material according to prescribed regulations using proper dispatching equipment.
• Unloads, verifies, sorts, separates, locates and properly documents (filing) all material. Responsible for inventory accuracy.
• Responsible for maintaining assigned equipment clean and in good working order.
• Will be expected to perform all job functions in a safe and responsible manner. Expected to keep all work areas clean and orderly.
• Expected to do all possible to minimize downtime and material losses.

Keys to Success:

Education

• A high school diploma or GED is required

Experience

• 1 or more years’ experience working in manufacturing environment and/or packaging environment preferred.
• The successful candidate will have previous warehouse experience, including RF Scanning, Fork Lift operation and may be required to use respirator
• Previous experience in a chemical environment in preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Candidate must be comfortable working in an environment with hazardous and non-hazardous materials
• Ability to work alternately in a seated or standing position is required
• Effective verbal and written communication skills including detail orientation and accuracy in documentation
• Willingness to learn various equipment including powered industrial trucks, forklifts, or other equipment.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

• Ability to manipulate/handle drums weighing up to 110 kg and lift containers weighing up to 40 kg.
• Ability to stand for the duration for shift requirements.
• Ability to operate machinery intermittently throughout the workday.
• Job requires wearing personal protective equipment to include gloves, safety suit, safety glasses, and other PPE as required.
• Ability to operate a stand up forklift and walkie stacker
