Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Lab Coordinator. The Lab Coordinator will play a crucial role in facilitating the smooth functioning of laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with protocols, and providing essential support to both laboratory staff and management.

Responsibilities:

Lab Operations Oversight:

  • Supervise day-to-day laboratory activities to ensure efficiency and adherence to established protocols.
  • Coordinate with laboratory staff to optimize workflow and resource utilization.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with procurement to maintain adequate supplies.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to uphold the highest standards of accuracy and precision in laboratory procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and laboratory protocols.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between laboratory staff and management.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the laboratory team and with external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate cross-functional activities.

Data Management:

  • Oversee the organization and maintenance of laboratory records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Support the implementation of data management systems and assist in data analysis as needed.

Training and Development:

  • Assist in the training and onboarding of new laboratory personnel.
  • Provide ongoing support and training to ensure staff members are updated on new procedures and protocols.

Problem Resolution:

  • Address and resolve issues related to laboratory processes and procedures promptly.
  • Collaborate with relevant parties to troubleshoot and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications:

  • High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification.
  • Proven experience in a laboratory setting, with a minimum of 1 year in a coordinating or supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and quality assurance practices.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and data management tools.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy.
