The Engineering/New Product Introduction (NPI) Buyer works as a member of a larger procurement team to perform functions needed to support Engineering, Research and Development, and Program Management who are passionate about bringing new technologies to market.
What you will do!
You’ll be part of cross-functional team chartered with introducing new technologies that will provide Thermo Fisher Scientific with a competitive advantage and build increased revenue. You’ll work with multiple functions like engineering, R&D, receiving, accounts payable, global sourcing, and suppliers across several different projects and categories.
You’ll collaborate with and support NPI Global Sourcing by performing new supplier and part number set up, placing PO’s for samples for testing/validation builds as well as for initial production. Once the project receives full approval for launch, you’ll transfer the ongoing production buying to a site-based buyer. From there it is on to the next project.
The NPI Buyer also plays a key role in communicating key delivery updates to the NPI launch team as well as resolve any issues associated with purchase orders to ensure timely receipt of materials so new projects remain on schedule.

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $59,400.00–$89,100.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
