Thermal Engineering International (USA) Inc. designs and fabricates high quality Pressure Vessels and Heat Transfer Equipment for the power generation and process industries worldwide. TEi’s product line includes a wide variety of main steam condensers, feedwater heaters, moisture separator reheaters (MSRs) and auxiliary heat exchangers. The main function of this position is subcontractor management for outsourced fabrication projects. The role will involve continuous involvement with our subcontract suppliers. Travel to visit these suppliers primarily in Europe, Mexico, South America and Asia will be necessary.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Supplier Kick-Off Meetings for assigned projects as required.
  • Conduct or arrange Pre-Production meetings at Supplier’s facility as required.
  • Manage supplier schedules and progress reporting of engineering deliverables, material procurement, fabrication, assembly and test, shipping preparation and shipment.
  • Anticipation and risk mitigation of issues that may impede Supplier performance and purchase order requirements for discussion and resolution with appropriate individuals.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct progress visits to Supplier sites as necessary.
  • Communicate with responsible Commodity Buyers regarding late contractual requirement deliveries in order to pursue back-charges or liquidated damages, if applicable, with supplier.
  • Coordinate efforts with the Supplier Quality Representative (SQR) for all project related Supplier inspection activities and report status to the Project Team.
  • Responsible for managing agreements with subcontractors. Communication of TEI initiated changes in scope (drawings, and specifications and schedule changes) to subcontractors and resolution of the effect of such changes on price, delivery or technical capability with the subcontractor.
  • Communicate and resolve the effect of such scope changes on budget pricing, delivery or subcontractor capabilities with Project Manager.
  • Responsible for resolving with Project Management and Engineering changes to Subcontracting cost, delivery or quality.
  • Responsible for creating requisitions of purchase orders and/or changes for subcontract orders.
  • Support Corporate Sourcing Supply Management as required.
Job Requirements / Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • 5 yrs. experience in manufacturing and/or manufacturing outsourcing.
  • Domestic and International Travel will be required.
  • Certified Profession Contract Manager (CPCM) a plus
  • Proficiency in the use of Word, Excel, and knowledge of Critical Path Methods using Primavera Scheduling.

This position can be located in Cerritos, CA/ Tulsa, OK/ Joplin, MO. The base pay range for this Subcontract Manager role is $90,000 - $125,000 DOE and location.
