Job Objective:

The Electrical Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager and focuses on the design, development, and validation of the electrical and control portions of Thermach core offerings and customer applications. Because of the expertise this role possesses within the organization, the Electrical Engineer will also provide support to the operations and service teams when electronic troubleshooting is required.

Job Duties

• Electronic and Controls Design & Development
• Electrical design and component specification
• Electrical schematic development
• Electronic/controls Debug and startup of in-house equipment and custom projects
• Creation of technical product manuals and other support documentation for new products
• Ensure systems and components comply with all pertinent industry design codes and standards
• System Validation Support and Troubleshooting
• Support service group on any customer issues as it relates to electronic/HMI function
• Assist and support of new system installation and training on-site at customer facilities
• Interface with customers to specify equipment and resolve operational issues.
• Project Management
• Mange project deliverables for assigned projects.
• Identify/develop/manage outside vendors.
• Mange cross-functional teams to complete projects on-time/on-budget.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering or related field
• Experience using CAD software (AutoCAD, Solidworks Electrical, etc.)
• Ability to read and write electrical schematics
• Specify componentry required for controls circuits
• Design electrical panel assemblies for custom applications
• BOM development and integration to ERP system
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, utilizing data-driven approach.
• Open-minded and team oriented.
• Superior written and oral communication skills
• Self-starter with ability to work on cross-departmental teams

Desired Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience in electrical design and automation
• PLC and HMI programming
• Industry experience in thermal spray or other industrial equipment that interfaces with multiple process components (ie. Manipulation, e-stop chain, etc.)
• Project management experience
• Experience designing and testing to 3rd party standards (UL / CE)
• Working knowledge of power supply systems
