Therm-x of California is Hiring a Quality Calibration Coordinator Near Hayward, CA

The Calibration Coordinator, as part of the Therm-x Quality team, will be responsible for managing and maintaining the calibration process. Perform day-to-day tracking of items maintained in the calibration database and coordination of all outside calibration services accordingly. The candidate should have a thorough understanding of calibration concepts and requirements and be able to work with multiple deadlines and departments. The candidate must be able to calibrate a limited amount of measurement tools such as torque wrenches, DMMs and crimping devices.

Requirements include:

  • Assign asset numbers for new tools using calibration database
  • Calibrate company tools which gets calibrated in-house
  • Update and maintain calibration database and records for all calibrated items within and outside the facility.
  • Responsible for monitoring and performing inventory of all tools and scheduling calibration pick-ups
  • Ensures all calibrated tools have a valid calibration stickers and certificates for all company tools
  • Prepare and send out tool lists to all departments for both in-house and outgoing items for upcoming calibration in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with all departments to gather tools requiring calibration
  • Prepare POs for calibration vendors and OEMs for all tools going out for calibrations.
  • Schedule pickups and create shipping documents for equipment for calibration.
  • Coordinate emergency support for equipment that goes down or out of service
  • Send out equipment for evaluation and/or repair if found damage and or not working
  • Monitor and record metrics for Calibration ---calibration planned vs performed, lost tools etc.
  • Generates monthly calibration reports
  • Work with receiving department to receive tools coming back from calibration in ERP system
  • Review receiver/invoices for accuracy for the tools which are received after outside calibration
  • Review calibration certificates for accuracy and to ensure that items are passing after calibration
  • Review legibility of calibration stickers and generate calibration stickers for in-house calibrated tools
  • Work with Quality Assurance to create calibration extension for the equipment that has expired as needed

Desired Skills;

  • Must have a thorough working knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts and measurement tools
  • Must possess good understanding of Inspection, Metrology and quality control
  • Proficient with MS Office products as well as adaptability in learning company ERP systems and database
  • AA degree is preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of ANSI Z540.1 and ISO/IEC 17025 standards is desired

Physical Demands:

PRODUCTION: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be in a stationary position; move within the facilities, constantly operate machining equipment and tools, inspect surroundings and equipment, occasionally ascends/descends a ladder, communicate with others, detect odors, and transport equipment up to 40 pounds

OFFICE: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be in a stationary position; move within the facilities, constantly operate computer equipment, inspect surroundings and documentation, communicate with others, detect odors, and transport office materials up to 20 pounds

Work Environment: moderate tohigh noise level associated with manufacturing facility

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour
