Job description

The Physical Therapy Tech, under the direct, on-site supervision of the Physical Therapist or Certified Physical Therapist Assistant, will carry out procedures and tasks for which he/she has been trained and deemed competent. The following is a summary of major essential functions of the Physical Therapy Tech. Other duties may be performed as directed. Specific functions may, from time to time, change.

Essential Functions
1. Demonstrate competency in Physical Therapy treatment procedures including resistive, active, active assistive and passive exercise; therapeutic activities to include safe use of the swings, scooter boards, and other mobility devices; transfer activities; various ball activities; functional training, and fine motor activities and progressions.Assist the PT with treatment procedures as needed. File all patient reports in the medical records. Make any needed photocopies and make sure faxes are sent. Disinfect equipment weekly and when soiled. Ensure that equipment is accounted for and stored in an orderly manner at the end of the day.Participate in and attend clinic staff meetings as scheduled. Demonstrate skills of effective time management.Observe patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines. Monitor inventory of supplies. Request orders of needed supplies in a timely manner to avoid emergency ordering. Performs other duties as delegated, required, or requested.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent

2. CPR certification for all age groups

3. Knowledge of child development preferred

4. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
